Cascade Klee Kai

“When I look into the eyes of a dog, I don’t see an animal.

I see a living being.

     I see a friend.

        I feel a soul”  -

           A D Williams

Alaskan Klee Kai are a relatively new and rare breed, developed about 35 - 40 years ago from the Alaskan Husky. They are similar in appearance to the Siberian Husky and Alaskan Malamute (northern breed with masks) but miniaturized (generally 8 to 15 pounds). They tend to be highly intelligent, athletic, and active.  They bond very tightly to their owners!

And, as tightly as Klee Kai bond with their family, they tend to be reserved around strangers.  Klee Kai require ongoing socialization their entire lives.

Because of their intelligence and their high drive to please their owners, they excel in obedience classes and agility.  In fact, because of their athleticism, intelligence and drive, the Alaskan Klee Kai seem to have been bred to compete in agility.
